How many views are needed to earn KRW 3 million per month?
The views you need depend on RPM as well as your target. The formula is target revenue ÷ RPM × 1,000.
View examples for monthly goals of KRW 1, 3, and 5 million
| Monthly revenue goal | RPM 1,000 KRW | RPM 3,000 KRW | RPM 5,000 KRW |
|---|---|---|---|
| KRW 1,000,000 | About 1,000,000 views | About 333,333 views | About 200,000 views |
| KRW 3,000,000 | About 3,000,000 views | About 1,000,000 views | About 600,000 views |
| KRW 5,000,000 | About 5,000,000 views | About 1,666,667 views | About 1,000,000 views |
At an RPM of KRW 3,000, a KRW 3 million monthly goal needs about 1 million views. At KRW 1,000 RPM, the same goal needs about 3 million views; at KRW 5,000 RPM, about 600,000.

What if I do not know my RPM?
For a monetized channel, start with actual RPM in YouTube Studio. If you know only revenue and views, use the RPM Calculator to work backward. Before monetization, compare several RPM scenarios rather than relying on one assumption.
Do Shorts need the same number of views?
Shorts and Watch Page ads have different revenue structures, so do not apply the same RPM. Use a separate assumption in the Shorts Revenue Calculator for Shorts.
Do more subscribers reduce the views needed?
Subscriber count is not a direct input to the ad-revenue formula. Audience size and loyalty may affect views, returning viewers, memberships, donations, and sponsorships, so total channel income can differ from ad revenue alone.
