How much can 1 million YouTube Shorts views earn?
Shorts has a different ad-revenue structure from long-form video, so long-form RPM should not be reused. The simplest calculation is Shorts views ÷ 1,000 × Shorts RPM.
Revenue examples for 100,000 to 10 million Shorts views
| Views | RPM 80 KRW | RPM 150 KRW | RPM 300 KRW | RPM 550 KRW |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100,000 views | About 8,000 KRW | About 15,000 KRW | About 30,000 KRW | About 55,000 KRW |
| 1,000,000 views | About 80,000 KRW | About 150,000 KRW | About 300,000 KRW | About 550,000 KRW |
| 10,000,000 views | About 800,000 KRW | About 1,500,000 KRW | About 3,000,000 KRW | About 5,500,000 KRW |
At KRW 150 RPM, 1 million Shorts views gives about KRW 150,000. At KRW 80, 300, or 550 RPM, the result is about KRW 80,000, 300,000, or 550,000 respectively.

Why do Shorts and long-form earnings differ so much?
Long-form Watch Page ads relate to ad impressions on individual videos. Shorts ad revenue from between videos in the feed is pooled and allocated by country. A million views therefore cannot be compared using a single rate across both formats.
Does using music always reduce earnings?
YouTube accounts for music licensing when allocating Shorts revenue, but applies the 45% creator share to the allocated amount regardless of music use. Your own YouTube Studio is the best place to check actual earnings.
Where can I find my Shorts RPM?
