How much does one YouTube view earn?
There is no universal fixed revenue per YouTube view across channels. RPM, which uses 1,000 views as its denominator, is more useful for a simple revenue estimate.
Per-view revenue is RPM ÷ 1,000
At KRW 3,000 RPM, the simple per-view average is KRW 3. This does not mean every ad view pays KRW 3; it averages total revenue over all views in a period.
Revenue examples by RPM
| RPM | Per-view average | 1,000 views | 100,000 views | 1 million views |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 KRW | 1 KRW | 1,000 KRW | 100,000 KRW | 1,000,000 KRW |
| 3,000 KRW | 3 KRW | 3,000 KRW | 300,000 KRW | 3,000,000 KRW |
| 5,000 KRW | 5 KRW | 5,000 KRW | 500,000 KRW | 5,000,000 KRW |
Why can equal view counts earn different amounts?
Official YouTube help explains that RPM can include advertising, YouTube Premium, memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, and other Analytics revenue. Viewer countries, ad demand, video length, topic, season, and revenue mix can change RPM even at the same view count.
Can I use CPM as revenue per view?
CPM represents advertiser costs for ad impressions before YouTube revenue sharing. RPM more directly reflects a creator's revenue after sharing across all views. See the RPM and CPM comparison for details.
Enter views and RPM to estimate monthly and yearly revenue.
Do Shorts earn the same amount per view?
No. Shorts Feed advertising uses a different revenue-sharing structure from long-form Watch Page ads. See the Shorts revenue-by-views guide for a separate comparison.
